What’s useful to include
- Tool feedback:which tool — sharpening angle, bevel angle, whetstone grit, blade length, steel hardness, or price-per-use — and what inputs you used, so the numbers can actually be checked.
- Content corrections: a steel spec, grit range, or museum fact that looks off, ideally with a source.
- Bugs:what you expected versus what happened, and your browser/device if it’s a display issue.

We read everything that comes in, but this isn’t a staffed support desk, so replies aren’t on a fixed schedule — please don’t rely on email here for anything urgent or safety-critical.

The tools page and blog answer most day-to-day questions about sharpening and blade steel, and the Knife Museum covers the history behind the knife. Results from any calculator here are estimates from established conventions, not a substitute for checking the manufacturer’s own specs — and whatever brought you here, always handle and sharpen knives carefully.
